Warrior ~ Perdition Rock Solo
Update 4-28-07
With the update containing Hard Mode this is now obsolete for making money.
It's still fun though
Update 04-16-07
Credits section
Misc. Strategy and content updates
I'm posting a guide on this because it is a challenging, fun, and profitable spot that gets little attention.
~Leet Skillz~
"Watch yourself!"
Dolyak signet
Elemental resistance
Healing signet
Gladiator's defense
Riposte
Deadly riposte
Desperation blow
~Attributes~
Strength 11+1=12
Swordsmanship 8+1+3=12
Tactics 11+1=12
Inspiration 3
~Equipment~
Armor
Any armor will work, but a set with +Armor vs. Elemental is helpful.
I use gladiator's with no problems.
Swords
Only the first sword is necessary, the other two speed the run up.
15^50 - 10% Increased adrenaline - +30HP
20v50 - 3/1 Vampiric +30HP
20% [Hexed] - 10% Increased adrenaline +30HP
Shields
The hexed shield is helpful, but not necessary.
+45HP [Stance] -2 Dmg [Stance]
+60HP [Hexed] Dmg -3 Dmg [Hexed]
+10 Armor [Vs. Fire] -2 Dmg [Stance]
Theory & Tactics
Use Elemental Resistance, and your +Al vs. Fire shield against:
Mahgo Hydra
Drake
Breeze Keeper
Creature types
Phantom
This is the only creature on perdition rock you are afraid of. You can kill them one at a time, but DO NOT take on more than one.
They do not trigger gladiator's defense due to them missing [Blind], and will use Cry of Frustration on your heal sig.
To kill one simply riposte every time it is available, and time desperation blows to hit as blind wears off.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCbYU66T42I
[The only thing more annoying than fighting a phantom: listening to the robot chicken theme @ the same time]
[EDIT] As an alternative try using a light damage wand, they will not blind you since they think you're a caster.
Flesh Golem
Extreme pushovers, the only threat they pose is a long fight if you kill them 1 at a time due to Animate Bone Minions / Taste of Death. The best tactic is to spread your damage so they all get down to very low health, make sure your HP is full [Death Nova] then throw up Gladiator's defense, and finish off survivors with Desperation Blow.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5gVZT4oN0o
Mahgo Hydra
Impossible if you don't know the right tactics, luckily, you're about to learn them. Mahgo hydras take turns casting Meteor Shower, you cannot survive if you are in one, the added damage will overwhelm you. So all you do is aggro a group, and run in circles untill they have all casted 2 showers each, they will not cast any more for some time. Pick a spot not in a shower, throw up your defense buffs, and own 'em.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-JDu3qwZ54
Drake
With your defense buffs they deal very very low damage, however, you will be burning at all times. Spam heal sig every time it is up, and kill with Gladiators Defense / Ripostes.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sz6Fxm2AGWw
Igneous Ettin
All they do is melee attack, you have Ripostes, Gladiator's Defense, and armor buffs...... 'nuff said.
Breeze Keeper
You can aggro like 10-15 of these and survive. Thier base attack damage is pretty high, but elemental, so make sure Elemental Resistance is up and you will be ok. Besides 1's and 2's thier only damage is Wastrel's Worry, all you have to do is use a skill every time Wastrel's is flashing. Use Desperation Blow at every recharge to speed the killing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1r6srqUCsI
Dark Flame Dryder
The only skill they use against you is Shadow Strike, and they only use it when you are above 50% health, or low enough that one Strike will kill you [Under 48 health]. All you have to do is let them take you under 50% and don't go under 50HP, and they will sit there attacking for 1's while you slaughter them. The vampiric 20v50 sword is for dryders, it maximizes your damage while keeping your health stable.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2AvDJWT9Q4M
Wurm
There is only one Wurm on Perdition Rock, and you can kill it with your eyes closed, I've done it. Dolyak, Gladiators Defense, Riposte's, Desperation Blow, Heal when needed.
Jade Armor/Bows
I havn't tried them because I'm too lazy to go infuse my new armor. I'm sure they can be killed easily though.
Mixed Groups
There are a couple points on the map were groups spawn with a random assortment of creature types. Use your own discretion, sometimes they will be impossible. As an example of innovating tactics, I recently found a group of 2 Mahgo Hydras and 2 Igneous Ettins. I did the usual run in circles while Hydras fire of Meteors tactic, however, every time a Riposte was up I stopped to let Ettins hit me. By the time I was ready to engage the Hydras, the Ettins were dead.
Bosses and Boss Groups
Some Bosses can be killed, others can't.
Killable Bosses:
Grenth's Cursed
Balthazar's Cursed
Dosakaru Fevertouch
Geckokaru Earthwind
Harn Coldstone
Maxine Coldstone
Nayl Klaw Tuthan
Rwek Khawl Mawl
Ignis Effigia
Lyssa's Cursed [HARD]
Shintenkaru Manshredder [HARD]
Some of the bosses will be very difficult to kill with other creatures present, take the group down one at a time by making them break from the group. Two boss groups are almost always impossible.
Lewt!
Creatures
Golds drop pretty frequently [Average 3 a run not including chests].
Some very high end stuff drops here [As you may expect]
Magma Shields, Fellblades etc. However, most of the golds you get will be caster items.
Chests
There are lots purple drops from chests, but there are many very expensive items that can drop. Sephis axes, Fellblades, Magma Shields etc.
You do not need to buy many keys because the creatures seem to have a high drop rate of them.
Misc. Tips
Trade your Mahgo claws, seared ribcages, and unctous remains for gold scrolls and sell 'em!
Make sure you take a superior salvage kit, you will need the entire thing.
This is the loot I got just making the videos, killing only the monsters killed on screen. I opened no chests.
One gold and a dye, not bad.
HAPPY HUNTING!

btw, u dont have to worry about hydras, you can easily tank them even with 3 meteor showers on you. i used to use a similar build, tho i was using hundred blades. its a nice run if you got nothing to do but it is not for profit imo, best thing i got there is a purple deadly cesta. Also, how do some people found magmas since there is no titan in that area O_o.

Here is an addition for you.
Killable Bosses
Balthazar's Cursed
He heals a hell of a lot, but eventually he just gives up and goes all out at you. Spam your Riposte's and occasional Desperation Blows, and use Dolyak to stop his KDs. Easy

Exactly....not sure what the purpose of this was, other than to show that the classic warrior solo build works in several different areas.
By the way, I've modified my Whammo!!! build and can solo every single boss and creature in Perdition now, even the dual-boss groups. And no...it doesn't use any of the skills you've listed...

Whammo's ftw!
..Anyway I did my first run. 2 hours or so (I was bored so I thought "what the hey"). I must say, when he says take Keys, he isn't kidding. I took 0 keys and I dont lie when I say I passed 6 chests in the area in the SS below. I was pretty pissed off .
Anyway...I actually had to stop due to RL before I actually met something that could beat me. I died 3 times, but always went back and killed what killed me. Usually just a wrong skill used.
3,500g +...
From...
I wish I had brought keys though

I have swords up over tactics because the additional base damage / desperation damage is better than additional riposte damage in speeding the run.

I've only had 1 white one drop. I looked up the wiki and it says they drop from Titans, but not only Titans. I think maybe only Titans are listed because they have the highest drop rate? Or did I hallucinate a Magmas? :P

I havn't timed one, I'll do that and post the results soon. I'd say about an hour to 1 1/2 depending on spawns / how awake I am.

I've never been able to tank showers, I guess maybe if you're using +AL vs. Fire armor. The run is actually pretty good profit to me, if you salvage things, and trade claws etc. for gold scrolls I make about 10-15k a run average. It is heavily dependant on luck, sometimes you get no gold drops, one time I got 8. There is always the chance of a req8 15^50 fellblade too.
